During their college education, Knox was one of three students chosen to complete a mural on campus, interned at Meow Wolf Denver as a production designer, and served as treasurer of the Art Practices Club for the 2022-2023 academic year. They have shown work at Pirate: Contemporary Art, Emmanuel Art Gallery, University of Colorado Denver, RedLine Contemporary Art Center, and Four Mile Historic Park in Denver, Colorado. They currently live and work in Fort Collins, Colorado.
My work focuses on connecting my experiences with my particular mental health to phenomena in the environment. I often focus on one issue or occurrence that has been observed in nature and use that as a vehicle to express the way I experience the world. I have recently become aware that I have many experiences common to those with ADHD and on the autism spectrum and finding parallels to my behavior in the world around me helps to understand why my brain works the way it does. This association also helps me to express these ideas to others through science and concrete data. For example, I can compare behaviors I experience of unnecessary aggression, frustration, and difficulty reading tones to similar behaviors seen in the orca population around Spain and Portugal who are “attacking” boats in the area. These connections allow me to engage with the world around me while also providing multiple layers for my audience to interact with.
